Clinical Nutrition
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Tenure Track)
The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track, assistant, associate, or full professor in Clinical Nutrition. Applicants must hold a D.V.M. or equivalent degree and be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Nutrition (ACVIM) or European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN), small animal track or comparative track with a predominant small animal focus. The successful candidate will join a department of faculty members that are committed to veterinary academia and are dedicated to contributing to a high-quality teaching program. Individuals with advanced degrees and/or special training or practice experience are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be joining a service of three primary care faculty and four small animal internal medicine specialists; this is a unique position that will be offered to the successful candidate as a named Professorship. With this designation there will be opportunities for clinical nutrition specific benefits that are aimed to further support professional development and success of this individual. The successful candidate will participate in instruction of veterinary and graduate students both in didactic and clinical settings pertaining to veterinary clinical nutrition. Additional activities will include primary research and clinical service activities in support of the academic missions of the department and college as they pertain to clinical nutrition.
The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University includes an endoscopy suite and is home to a state-of-the-art radiology facility. Additionally, there is the opportunity for excellent collaboration with animal nutrition faculty across campus, particularly the Kansas State University Pet Food Program. The Pet Food Program maintains a canine and feline colony for research purposes, full analytical laboratory, and pilot-scale pet food manufacturing facility capable of wet and dry food production.
The starting date for the position is negotiable. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
