The Department of Cardiology, Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking an interventional echocardiography specialist for the Division of Non-invasive Cardiology. This academic cardiologist will have responsibility for the echocardiography program in interventional cardiology. Our mission is to be a leader in the delivery of innovative and transformative care. Ranked number 3 in the nation according to USNWR, the Department of Cardiology consists of over 170 clinicians and research faculty. Our program is internationally recognized as a leader in interventional cardiology and echocardiography for structural heart disease and is known for pioneering work in percutaneous mitral and tricuspid valve repair and percutaneous aortic, mitral, tricuspid, and pulmonic valve replacement. All forms of structural heart disease are treated in our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization laboratories equipped with the most up-to-date echocardiographic equipment.

The successful candidate will have leadership/administrative, clinical, academic, and research responsibilities within the Department of Cardiology and will supervise clinical, educational, and research activities within interventional echocardiography. The candidate shall help develop and design relevant clinical services, and facilitate quality and performance improvement.

Qualifications:

•            Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and subspecialty training in echocardiography.

•            Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology and board eligible and certified in echocardiography.

•            Unrestricted California license as Physician

•            Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of California.

•            Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

•            Eligible for appointment to the appropriate academic rank in the CSMC

•            Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•            Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.

•            Proven knowledge and success in clinical skills. Candidates should have experience in supporting medicine post-graduate fellowship training. Candidates should be recognized for the provision of clinical excellence.

This position will be working closely with the interventional cardiology program, under the direction of Dr. Raj Makkar, Vice President of Cardiovascular Innovation and Intervention, as well as with Dr. Robert Siegel, Director of the Cardiac Noninvasive Laboratory.
