Job Summary:

This position will provide clinical care for patients with movement disorder (ataxia, chorea, dystonia, Huntington disease, metabolic movement disorders, myoclonus, rigidity, and parkinsonism) as well as general neurological disorders. The position will include clinical, research, service and teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient specialty clinic, the outpatient general neurology clinic, and call (a mix of inpatient and outpatient call).

Key Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Outpatient evaluation of children with Neurological Disorders
2. On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients
3. Participation in the Tic, Tone and Tremor Clinic
4. Participation in Complex Movement Clinic
5. Participation in attending coverage of inpatient neurology consult service
6. Development of a Deep brain stimulator program
7. Collaboration with rehab medicine for the management of complex movement disorders associated with cerebral palsy
8. Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate
9. Teaching clinical care concepts to NP's, PA's, Residents and RNs.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:

1. 0-6 years of clinical experience, interest in pursuing academic promotion
2. Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic
3. Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
4. Training in movement disorders or sufficient clinical experience to allow for specialization
5. DEA certificate
6. Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License

Associate Professor:

1. 6 or more years of clinical experience
2. Prior experience with program development, teaching or research
3. Examples of scholarship
4. Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic
5. Board Eligibility in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
6. Training in movement disorders or sufficient clinical experience to allow for specialization
7. DEA certificate
8. Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License

Condition of Employment:

1. Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
2. Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Board Certified in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology.
2. Current DEA
3. Experience with patients with movement disorders is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Willing to collaborate with the medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families.
2. Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses.
3. Knowledge and desire to specialize in movement disorders diagnoses and treatment.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range for this position has been established as:

1. Assistant Professor: $216,000 to $235,000
2. Associate Professor: $244,344 to $265,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
