Job Description

Under general supervision, the lead tech is responsible for oversight of all facets of the Urodynamic Lab. Supervise and evaluate all Urodynamic techs/Medical assistant. Will develop, maintain, and implement all Urodynamic policies and procedures. Will monitor schedules to ensure continuous, efficient and smooth patient flow adapting testing schedule as needed, while continually maximizing efficient use of space and resources.

Responsibilities:
Ensure all Patient testing is scheduled appropriately; maintain and adjust all Urodynamic Tech schedules
Ensure that all testing is done within clinical guidelines as follows.
Check in patient and bring to exam/procedure room; obtain history and confirm diagnosis/reason for UDT
Review Voiding Diary and summarize results for MD
Test for UTI prior to procedure
Position patient in chair appropriately; hook up all the catheters and leads; calibrate all the catheters and leads; input all information into computer
Run the test, use Prolase reduction if necessary; testing will generally last 45 minutes and involves many instructions for the patients' maneuvers to elicit incontinence or detrusor instability and placement of EMG pads to elicit dysnergia or lack thereof
At conclusion of the test, calibration of all the leads after removal from the patient, administering RX and also reviewing instructions and precautions with the patient; and setting up appropriate follow up with the patient and creating a synopsis after report interpretation and inputting this data into the computer
Review all the interpretation with attending after testing is concluded for the day; review Billing sheets for the procedure with the attending
Assists a manager or supervisor by coordinating the work of an assigned group of employees. Relays work instructions and distribute and monitors work. Provides technical training and assistance. Assists in ensuring employees are provided with appropriate resources. Provides recommendations for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel. May provide employee performance information and report employee performance problems

Qualifications

Associate's degree required.
Eligible to obtain Urodynamic Certification.
Must have at least 3 to 5 years of Urodynamic testing experience preferable in Urogynecology.
Prior experience using the Laborie Urodynamic Equipment is desirable.
Work requires frequent continuous typing, computer keying; lifting, assisting and positioning patients, positional materials, electronic, laboratory, or material handling equipment; patient treatment instruments and equipment.
Possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. This includes knowledge of growth and development; ability to interpret age specific data and response to care, and ability to provide age specific communication.
