Unit Description:
High Volume fast paced. Performs patient assessment, determines priority of care and provides any immediate interventions, analyzes assessment data, formulates and implements plan of care and evaluates for effectiveness in collaboration with medical staff and in accordance with the policies and procedures of IHN.64 Bed Emergency Department with hallway utilization, 75 bays which includes holds and pediatrics. Comfortable and proficient with caring for critically ill patients, behavioral health patients, and/or hold patients.?Hold patients rarely include ICU and are primarily obs/acute inpatient admits. Average 150-190 visits daily. Ratio: 4:1, 5:1 Scrub Color: Navy Blue Charting System: Cerner
?Experience and Requirements:
Contract Length: 6-13 weeks
Specialty: Must have a MIN. of 2 years' exp. in the ER as an RN as within the last 6 months. Preferred 3 years
Weekend/schedule: Every other
Holiday: Every other
RTO: no more than 3 days
License: NJ or compact
Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (AHA only)
Float Requirements
Must be willing to float within specialty or ED Observation Unit.

First Day Instructions
Sent by client directly to the worker by 5pm the Friday prior to Monday start.
The worker will receive three emails from client.
1.?TEAMS link for Monday which is a virtual orientation day.
a. They will attend a Teams meeting and then continue the day with 'at your pace' modules.
2.?Education to schedule their orientation classes.
a. Classes take place Tuesday-Thursday, and the candidate MUST attend. If they try to reschedule or miss a class, they will not be able to complete their assignment.
b.?The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment. Please ensure your worker has their POCT class date and remembers to attend.
3.HR Email- scheduling an ID Badge appointment and review policy/procedure.
a. The ID badge is very important to obtain prior to their Orientation Shift. This is how the candidate clocks in and out, which is how invoicing/billing occurs!
?*Workers must be available for the full 7 days of their first week for Orientation. No special scheduling for Orientation is permitted. If workers cannot attend full Orientation the offer will be rescinded. *
