The Operating Room Surgical Services Nurse Coordinator will be accountable for working with the Perioperative Services Nurse Director to provide twenty four hour oversight of nursing practice including staff recruitment, retention, staff performance and counseling, policy/procedure, staffing, performance improvement, staff development and education, resource management and program development.

The Operating Room Perioperative Services Nurse Coordinator will communicate with physicians regarding clinical issues. The Surgery Operating Room Nurse Coordinator will communicate with the Surgical Services Director regarding services, guiding orientation and all in-service education for the staff. The OR Operating Room Surgery Nurse Coordinator will continually assess, measure and improve departmental performance standard according to HCAHPS customer service benchmark.

The Surgical Services Operating Room Nurse Coordinator will assist in directing operations of the Perioperative Department to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements. The Operating Room Surgical Services Nurse Coordinator will work with department director in assuring collaborative departmental approach to planning care, service design and development of organizational policies and procedures.
