The Doctors of Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery have been providing specialty surgical services since 1980. Over the years, the group has had various names, but the core set of Doctors has stayed together. In 2001, the group consolidated and formed one company, Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery.
Our surgeons core values of surgical excellence and patient safety were coupled with an ambitious plan to provide those services to as many patients as possible. And now, our Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery in Newnan , GA is looking to expand their staff. We are seeking a full-time Surgical Assistant for our office.
The Surgical Assistant assists the oral surgeon during procedures such as dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, biopsy of gingiva and bone.
The assistant will make notes about performed procedures, progress, recommendations, and other subjects in the patient's charts.
Surgical Assistants must ensure that surgical instruments are properly cleaned, and sterilized, before procedures begin. Working with x-rays is common and be responsible for tasks such as checking vital signs or maintaining IV fluid flows during procedures.
Recent graduates of surgical technology and dental assisting program are welcome to apply.
This is a M-F position. No nights or weekends. Days can be long!
Availability for early mornings and late afternoons is preferred.

- Anticipate needs of the surgeon throughout surgical procedures
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures
- Facilitate the flow of surgical service activities
- Play a critical role in surgical procedures by preparing the surgical room and patient, assisting the surgeon with surgical techniques, and anticipating needs of the entire surgical team
