The Radiologic Technologist Surgery takes images of various portions of the body by operating radiologic equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics under supervision and as directed by a Physician.

General Statement of Duties:
The Radiologic Technologist Surgery takes images of various portions of the body by operating radiologic equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics under supervision and as directed by a Physician.
Essential Duties:
- Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
- Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
- Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis.
- Examines radiologic images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
- Assists the O.R. staff in preparing the room for a procedure and during turnover between procedures.
- Performs data entry related to patient care.
- Maintains and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
- Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment. Notifies BioMed when issues arise with equipment so that appropriate repairs can be completed and service tracked.
- Instructs patient regarding procedures. Observes patients and maintains comfort and safety levels during examination.
- Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree required in Radiologic Technology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) certification required
- Current Machine Operators License with the Indiana State Department of Health required
- BLS certification required
- 1-2 years of experience required
- 2-4 years of experience preferred
