Primary Responsibilities:
  • Quickly formulate a differential diagnosis from assessments conducted within the clinic setting
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients
  • Provide guidance to nursing personnel towards treatment plans and care issues.
  • Document treatment plans in the medical record
  • Coordinate care for patients


This is not a traditional primary care clinic. While you'll work as a key member of an interdisciplinary team, there is significant administrative work along with patient triage. The pace is fast and the team is small. There is potential exposure to patients with infectious diseases.

Required Qualifications:
  • National Nurse Practitioner certification on adult, family or gerontology or ability to obtain, or Physician Assistant certification
  • Licensure in the state where this position is based, or ability to obtain
  • DEA or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acute care experience in a primary care clinic, urgent care or retail clinic
  • Ability to formulate a differential diagnosis
  • Proficient in assessment and development of treatment plans
  • Background in managed care
  • Familiarity with ICD-9 coding
