Job Description
We are looking for a CNA CMA to join our team! This is a weekend position (Sat and Sun) evening (3-11 pm) to work with a young woman with muscular dystrophy at her own home in Alameda. Join her team in providing support to this woman who directs her own care, and needs help with repositioning in her wheelchair, help with suctioning, blood glucose testing, and attendant duties helping take care of her pets (a small dog, a cockatiel, and guinea pigs, cooking, light housekeeping and companionship).
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Requirements are a current CA driver's license (to take her places in her own small mini-van), a certified medical assistant/nursing assistant, or nursing units completed in lieu of certification. A responsible (but laid-back) demeanor.
Up to 30 hours of training is completed with current support people and with our RN at $18/hour. Once everyone is in agreement that your training is completed, your pay increases by $1/hour.

- Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff
- Administer prescribed medications to patients
- Sterilize and prepare medical tools and equipment
- Assist in the transport of patients
- Provide companionship and basic care to patients
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to work well in teams
