Senior Director, Patient Access Support, Heme/Onc
Summary/Scope:

The Senior Director, Patient Access Support Services, is responsible for leading the strategy, operations and ongoing management of our patient access support services and reimbursement support across assigned BMS current and future pipeline products. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a large, diverse team, and creating solutions that improve patient access to medications and treatment.

The Senior Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing effective patient- and HCP-facing programs in partnership with brand marketing and payer/access marketing designed to assist expedient patient access to critical BMS medicines. In addition, the Senior Director is responsible for developing effective relationships with key BMS cross functional partners, including brand marketing, strategic payer/access marketing, finance, business analytics, sales, legal, compliance, field reimbursement, as well as external vendors, while fostering/managing an engaging employee environment based on servant leadership principles. The Senior Director is also responsible for the continual improvement of the function, technological advancement, and overall optimization of programs.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide strong leadership and team direction to achieve excellent results and deliver on the goals and expectations for BMS Patient Support.

Conduct results focused operating reviews and drive appropriate change and adjustment to ensure desired alignment and execution of strategies and tactics to align with US VAP.

Provide a strategic vision and set clear expectations to lead employees in goal setting and performance planning. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure continuous development for direct reports.

Lead and monitor day to day operations of BMS Patient Access Support Services and financial assistance service providers to ensure high quality performance and adherence to contractual requirements.

Ensure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and vendors are monitored effectively and efficiently, soliciting process improvements when necessary.

Provide guidance for critical customer issues, access and program performance trends that are escalated and ensure follow through to resolution.

Lead the strategic planning for upcoming launches, launch meetings, and other opportunities to interact with senior management in the organization.

Drive the implementation of new services, program enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Effectively prioritize, allocate and manage financial resources; regularly monitor expenditures and budget variance for patient support services, along with any operating costs to BMS.

Understand how to navigate within a matrix and manage the infrastructure to coordinate resources and align efforts between both franchises.

Work in conjunction with legal, regulatory and compliance personnel on BMS business rules and rules of engagement.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills required; must be adaptable, flexible and able to work well within a team and relate effectively with people at all levels of the organization including Senior Leadership.

Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations

Understanding of the complex US legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines.

Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand BMS' key objectives, and to drive plans that achieve or exceed these.

Proven teamwork and collaboration skills with a demonstrated track record working with cross-functional teams.

Ability to analyze data to drive decision-making.

Able to effectively manage competing priorities with strong sense of urgency.

Ability to think creatively / innovatively striving for solutions to access issues.

Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate problems.

Ability to influence across functions to gain consensus on solutions.

Ability to engage Senior Leadership on patient focused solutions.

Prerequisites:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree a plus.

At least 15 + years in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in commercialization, reimbursement, channel customers, specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, coding and all aspects of patient support/HUB services.

Experience with leading people and managing vendors.

Expertise in oncology, hematology, and Inflammation & Immunology pharmaceutical products is preferred.

Understanding Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review processes at a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Candidates should have working knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

This position requires moderate (10 - 20%) travel
